HXMT Magnetic Shield Design and Test Results

Abstract: We present the results of experiments on the passive magnetic shield for HXMT main detectors. The magnetic shielding case made of permalloy reduces the maximum gain variations of detectors to 6% on the ground. Together with the automatic gain control system, the magnetic shield system will limit the gain variations of in-flight detectors to 1%, and limit the background variations to 0.1%.
